Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health (Children's) is seeking a collaborative and innovative nurse leader to assume the position of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for this thriving and dynamic organization located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health (Children's) is Oklahoma’s only freestanding comprehensive pediatric medical care center where pediatricians, pediatric specialists and pediatric sub-specialists have been caring for Oklahoma’s children for nearly 100 years. With 369 inpatient beds, they’re the state’s premier health care facility for Oklahoma’s youngest. Children’s is home to Oklahoma’s only children’s emergency department as well as the highest level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the state. Children's works to provide a kid-friendly atmosphere in every way. Children's is a member of OU Health, the newly unified and rebranded organization consisting of Oklahoma Medical Center, OU Health Edmond Medical Center, Oklahoma Children's Hospital at OU Health, OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, OU Health Harold Ham Diabetes Center, OU Health Partners and the OU Health Retail Pharmacies.
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) has accountability for providing executive nursing leadership to Children's, ensuring that nursing care performance at the facility level meets the quality, safety and financial targets established by the system. In a matrix reporting relationship with the President of Children's and the OU Health Chief Nurse Executive, the CNO in partnership with leadership collaborates to implement and evaluate the impact of strategies and initiatives to improve quality, safety, staff and patient engagement outcomes.
Candidates must possess a willingness to help mentor and develop the next generation of nursing leaders. A track record of team building, engagement and collaboration will be necessary for this CNO to be successful. Previous experience in nursing leadership is required as is evidence of progressive experience in nursing leadership in an acute care setting. Given the complexity of OU Health and the continuing integration, previous experience in a health system is preferred.
