Job Summary

The Senior Vice President, Engineering and Technical Operations is responsible for providing leadership to Engineering and Technical Operations, as part of the West Division senior leadership team.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:


Establishes and maintains recommended engineering and technical operations standards and practices.

Aligns performance metrics to support the achievement of business, department, and team goals. Works closely with division and region staff to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting, measuring, and monitoring new build and commercial opportunities.

Works with commercial and residential teams to develop and execute overall strategies that will support both residential and commercial initiatives.

Ensures network technologies are designed and maintained to meet current and future customer demand and overachieve industry standards.

Practices and ensures Company safety policies and procedures are followed

Delivers technical operations and engineering strategies through strong relationships with the Division and Region Engineering and Operations, National Engineering and Technical Operations and Corporate Business development groups.

Contributes to and is a member of the executive leadership team leading the West division.

Executes the Plan of Record for the Engineering short and long range strategic plan.

Aligns activities across the Fulfillment, Logistics, Analytics and Engineering organizations to produce the best possible outcomes for customers.

Works with staff to recruit and retain top engineering and Technical Operations talent.

Works closely with Corporate/Legal to ensure that all contractors/vendors meet all Company guidelines for Certificate of Insurances and Company Master Agreements.


Core Responsibilities:


Leads by example in creating an environment that encourages open communication, sharing ideas and best practices and building strong cross-functional relationships.

Provide strong leadership and support for the Shared Services groups, XOC, Technical Operations CoE, Capacity, Engineering and Technical Operations Division and Regional teams.

Champion and evangelize the architectural vision while driving technical delivery

Set and deliver team KPIs/operating and financial goals and ensure individuals and teams are meeting company goals and aligned metrics

Reviews work from a relatively long-term perspective and against the department's goals. Translates corporate strategy and field priorities into short- and mid-term goals and objectives for the department.

Provides leadership to Engineering staff to ensure activities of all Engineering, teams are performed optimally and in compliance with Company standards of quality and efficiency. Responsible for managing a large operational and capital budgets from collaborative creation, to strategic execution, on through to successful overachievement.

Creates strategies to achieve business goals such as; increasing revenues, limiting expenses, adding subscribers and developing a skilled, motivated, satisfied and diverse workforce.

Directs and participates in planning activities related to the Regions through the preparation of various budgets and forecasts to meet defined objectives for growth and profitability.

Strategically works with other functional leaders in forecasting customer activity and resulting resource requirements at each of the operating areas; identifies and manages resource allocation and needed employee skill sets within the areas based on forecasted work levels.

Works with Technical Operations and Care leadership in identifying training needs, ensuring staff has the correct combination of skills to meet the expanding broadband needs of our customers.

Builds and maintains favorable and beneficial relationships with community residents and public officials within the area to protect the company's franchises and to permit profitable customer rates throughout.

Drives Engineering culture and furthers engagement through Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, tool/resource enhancements, and strategic people initiatives

Establishes, communicates, and implements engineering and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective, consistent, and sustainable operations.

Reviews and submits reports that provide critical data to drive ongoing operational performance improvement.

Interprets, administers, and implements corporate policies and procedures. Approves policies and major operating procedures.

Remains current on all technological and related advances to facilitate optimal productivity and accuracy for the drafting function.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.


Requirements:


Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent is preferred.

Generally requires 15 years related experience with a minimum of 5 years in executive leadership (VP or above).

5-10 years of experience in telecommunications management; Regional and Division management a plus.

Demonstrated success in the following core competencies: Visionary thinking complimented by shaping and executing strategy; business orientation to include functional depth and breadth within telecommunications' operations and strong financial and budgetary skills.

Possess strong data and analytical skills to provide a data-driven approach to Operations

Employ a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset thinking outside of the box to come up with creative solutions to industry challenges.

Strong decision-making skills coupled with the ability to lead change.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that will contribute to team development and in working with other stakeholders including governmental agencies and senior management.

Salary:

Pay Range: $339,428.32 - $509,142.48
