Description
As a key member of the technology leadership team, you will lead diverse and distributed software engineering teams across different technical disciplines, direct on multiple product development road–map and strategically shape the technical architecture inline with business mission objectives. Your department is responsible for the planning, development and delivery of our SaaS products, product suite and platform.
You will work within the Technology Division and hand in hand with Product management and strategy teams, testing and linked with Data Science and UX/UI. You will work closely with product owners to understand product enhancements and technical solutions.
Translating the product vision into delivered reality whilst passionately leading our talented team in best practice CI/CD software engineering.
Responsibilities
Lead the engineering management team, encouraging collaboration, ownership and accountability.
Day to day responsibility for all engineering aspects of the product development life cycle; architecture, technical specifications, software development, testing, SQA and maintenance
Lead, manage, enthuse, and mentor on and offshore multi–site engineering teams
Create and share clear departmental structure, career level development plans and inspire team loyalty with a supportive, open, and transparent culture.
Create, own, and continuously improve all engineering processes, methodologies, and systems.
Drive and support the architecture and design decisions needed to achieve high performance and cost–effective results.
Support and contribute to technical design, the tech road–map and decision making for the team and the company
Collaborate with leadership team to align business and strategic goals with technology driven initiatives
Advocate development best practices in the organisation and proactively educate the team on new technologies.
Work with Project team to ensure product development delivery schedules and reporting
Recommend and create next generation infrastructure tools to support development.
Bring together Architecture, development, dev ops and SQA to create efficient and productive development
Develop ownership and responsibility within senior engineers advocating and supporting knowledge sharing, delegation and packaging of work
Interact with functional teams and customers to describe the solution and benefits in non–technical terms.
People management including coaching, mentoring, and training direct reports.
Be a leader in the business driving and motivating engineering teams to deliver products to plan.
Profile
Suitable candidates will have a proven track record in SaaS software engineering leadership
– Experience running large multi–site engineering function and able to demonstrate a track record of developing and mentoring their people to support organisation growth and capability.
– SaaS experience within a relatively complex technical architecture and ideally have experience developing a platform of SaaS products for market segments.
– A strategic thinker who is able to engage their teams to work collaboratively and drive innovation within their field of expertise.
Job Offer
A market beating salary and compensation for the right candidate.
GBP150,000 – GBP200,000 plus bonus, pension and full benefits package.
