Job Details:

SUMMARY:This position is responsible for leading the operations team within Prepared Foods to ensure profitability and industry leading service to our customers. The Group Manufacturing Director will be a key driver and will have a significant impact on the company’s competitive position and financial performance . The role is responsible for overseeing 4-6 plant operations and 2,000 plus -Team members with an operating budget of $170 mm.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:

Provide both strategy and daily cost management for the responsible plants. This person will direct coordinate the development and achievement of monthly, annual, and long-term strategic plans as well as oversee operational lean improvement initiatives related to cost efficiency, waste, safety, quality, and environmental management. This position will also balance setting strategic vision along with managing the weekly and monthly P&L for their respective plant operations.

Drive continuous improvement processes and the implementation of new tools and technologies. Also helps lead the creation of lean manufacturing principles to minimize production costs while maximizing production output, while ensuring their respective operations teams follow all Company policies and governing laws.

Responsible for the management of Supply Chain, Purchasing, Warehouse, Transportation, Health, Food Safety, Manufacturing, Sanitation, and Maintenance activities to ensure that the products being produced are meeting all established company policies and quality standards within budget.

This position works closely across all functional areas of the business to ensure that all activities are consistent with the company and customer needs, while maintaining positive relationships, while also identifying activities to improve line efficiency, safety, employee relations, work environment, quality, and training.

This position will also provide leadership in motivating managers to provide guidance and programs to enhance the skill level of their employees, resolving issues related to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods, and reviewing cost and performance data to help determine areas that need improvement.

This position will compile a monthly expense and efficiency report, promoting and explaining the TQM philosophy to employees, and obtaining approval and executing all capital improvements for plants.

This position is responsible for facilitating the Talent Mapping and Succession Planning Programs and supporting the Retention Program.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing or Agri-Business Science desired or equivalent experience.

Experience : 10 years of operations experience with at least three years of plant management experience, consumer products, selling, and sales management experience ; food manufacturing experience is preferred.

Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required; working familiarity with SAP Bl and Success Factors preferred .

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Special Skills: Highly motivated ; record of performance excellence in sales management service delivery and management leadership; deep knowledge of Prepared Foods production systems and supply . Supervisory: Responsible for managing multiple groups of personnel at multiple locations. Must have strong ability to lead leaders virtually.

Possess strong leadership skills marked by an ability to articulate ideas, delegate appropriately, set clear goals and drive accountability.

Be a highly motivated professional able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Travel: 50 - 75% travel per year
