My client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join their growing Java Development team in Salt Lake City, UT.
In this position, you will work with a fun and skilled development team, designing and implementing software solutions.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Create, enhance, and maintain complex data processing applications
Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, and is easy to maintain.
Ability to produce software that meets specifications, follows standards, and is easy to maintain
Work with Q/A to make sure the product is fully tested.
Estimate development schedules and determine project scope.
Have ownership of deliverables and produce quality work.
Participate in requirements and architecture/design definition
Minimum 3 years experience developing software using an object-oriented programming language, ideally Java
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Hard worker and team player
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues
Desire to learn, take ownership and produce high quality and robust applications
Desire to continually learn new skills and technologies
Good written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work under minimum supervision
Experience in the following areas would be considered a plus
Linux - Very comfortable coding from the command line
Python
Java
MySQL or SQL Server
jQuery
Hadoop
Test-driven development
Software design patterns
SCRUM
