Software Engineer / Sr. Software Engineer

Profile

This opportunity is a telecommuting position reporting to Icom America Inc.'s corporate headquarters in Bellevue, WA. This unique roll draws upon RF, embedded software, and firmware skills in a Windows platform to contribute on an engineering team. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work remotely.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Experienced designer of embedded software for 16 bit microprocessors (preferably Hitachi processors) in RF transceivers or similar electronic devices using C and assembly languages.
Experienced developer of supporting software in PC Windows environment using C (e.g., cloning or mapping software.)
Demonstrated ability to modify existing software and firmware (developed by others) with minimum documentation and support on a wide variety of products.
Demonstrated ability to meet challenging project schedules.
RF transceiver firmware design experience including analog (FM, AM, SSB, RTTY and other analog data communication systems.)
Able to read and understand radio schematics
PC proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer
Able to work in a management-by-object environment with a minimum of supervision
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with people to whom English is a second language
Able to travel domestically and internationally
Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural team environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Rapid prototyping/demonstrating firmware modifications determined from customer needs or in support of research projects.
