The Vice President of Sales controls and directs the daily operation of the on-site sales team for the purpose of obtaining maximum sales efficiencies, while adhering to company standards and compliance through planning, directing and providing leadership that is necessary to achieve the objectives of the specific site.


Responsible for the recruitment, selection, training (initial and on-going) and motivation of all sales management.

Develop special contests and other programs to assist in meeting goals while maintaining a motivating work environment for the team members.

Supervise the preparation of the sales rotation, ensuring consistency, equity and accuracy.

Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing levels of trained and qualified vacation counselors, that will accommodate to the marketing tour flow.

Directs the planning, organization, and coordination of morning sales meetings that motivate team members to deliver excellent customer service that will drive sales revenue and success.

Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers, in accordance with company standards.

Manage the entire sales unit, including sales managers and vacation counselors by consistently adhering to the Company’s performance management programs and conducting analysis’ to determine performance levels against corporate objectives by: (1) Establishing the performance goals and action plans for all sales management team members, (2) Working with the sales management team members to determine the performance goals and action plans for each sales team member, and (3) Consistently following up with sales management team members to ensure equity and compliance with the performance management programs.

Accountable for attracting, retaining, training, and motivating a diverse sales team on an ongoing basis.

Responsible for achieving and/or exceeding the established sales targets in regards to volume per guest (VPG), net sales volume and closing percentage of the relevant sales site(s).

Responsible for receiving and addressing guest complaints/issues immediately.

Develop action plans and schedules for each sales presentation and assist team members in overcoming client objections.

Maintain the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with fellow team members, management, members, owners and guests.

Execute and manage every element of the sales process and develop/maintain a top-notch Sales team.

Attend all required sales meetings and trainings.

Complete all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.

Adhere to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.

Perform other related duties as assigned.


High School Diploma or equivalent.


A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the vacation ownership industry.

A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in the Sales industry.


This position spends the majority of the time (50% or more) achieving Organization objectives, often through the coordinated achievements of subordinate Staff.  A portion of the time may be spent performing individual tasks that are similar to those that are performed by direct reports, but the primary duties are supervisory or organizational-goal centric.  This position analyzes and resolves problems, determines work techniques, monitors for regulatory compliance, maintains production, interprets and creates policies and demonstrates expertise in Sales subject-matter. 

This position establishes departmental goals and objectives, functions with independence, and makes decisions on matters of significant importance.  This position also manages Team Members, financial, and/or physical resources; and, proactively assesses risk(s) and establishes systems and procedures to protect organizational assets.   This position exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action and develops systems to ensure subordinate Team Members adhere to policies and procedures in compliance with organizational goals and objectives. 

Specific supervisory duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Establishes objectives and goals for the team; plans, organizes and manages work flow.

Assigns, monitors, and reviews work; evaluates direct report’s performance.

Recruit, interview, train, offer correction action to and terminate (with HR approval) direct reports. 

Orientate and train direct reports.

Approve time records/time off requests and submits payroll for direct reports.

Investigates and resolves concerns and complaints.

Provide assistance and support to the Sales site(s); maintains a positive and professional working environment.


Active Real Estate License – as required by State law.


This position requires the ability to understand and follow both oral and written instruction as well as have knowledge of and properly use Standard English and follow office practices. Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.

Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Ability to clearly explain the product and sales contract.

Ability to anticipate change and develop plans and programs to optimize resources and benefits.

Ability to identify areas of opportunity, collect/compile data, establishes facts and creates valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions to verbal, mathematical, or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Proven ability to understand and interpret financial documents, as well as create spreadsheets and budgets.

Proficient in reading and understanding annual budgets and statistical reporting.  Ability to work in a fast-paced metrics driven environment.

Ability to operate general office equipment (i.e. computer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Understand how to develop and implement business strategies.

Ability to interpret and create policies, procedures and manuals.

Excellent customer service skills.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.

Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external Customers.

Ability to interpret and create spreadsheets.

Able to use sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Able to perform a variety of duties, often of a different nature, changing from one task to another, with impending deadlines and/or established timeframes.
