By truly understanding your risk exposures in a constantly changing global environment, we can better work with you to keep risk placement recommendations current and responsive. nResponsibilitiesnWe currently have an opening in our Stamford, CT office for an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller role will report to the Vice President & Controller and will manage an Accounting staff of three direct reports. n n The successful candidate will be analytical, a self-starter, able to work independently, deadline oriented and will perform general accounting management duties assigned.n nThis role is hybrid - three days per week in the office, two days per week from home.n nResponsibilities will include:n nn Assist with managing the monthly financial Close and reporting.n Regular reporting of the financials to Management. Reports include: standard Reporting (P&L, Balance Cash Flow and KPIs).n Provide direct support to the Controller including: support the planning of the budget, midterm plan, capital expenditures, operating costs and special projects.n Assist with management and coordination of internal controls to ensure that all operating policies and procedures are complied with.n Manage the Sarbanes Oxley requirement.  n Ensure compliance of regulatory and statistical reporting.n Process and maintain financial data and supporting documentation.n Maintains PeopleSoft General Ledger.n Manage affiliate Cost Share allocations.n Maintain capitalized expenditure inventory.n Oversee and mentor the Finance staff to develop and enhance their capabilitiesnn nQualificationsnn 10 years of property and casualty insurance experiencen Track record with successfully managing a finance operationn Accounting Knowledge: This position requires a good understanding of GAAP and Statutory accounting principles.n Technical skills: The successful candidate will possess the ability to work at a very detailed level, identify problems and provide solutions.n Accountability: The successful candidate will take responsibility for assignments and show initiative in developing more efficient ways to complete routing tasks.n Strong Interpersonal skills.n Self-directed in achieving closure on deliverables.n Collaborative and team oriented.n Comfortable managing multiple priorities.n High level of integrity and dependability with a sense of urgency.n Bacheloru2019s degree from an accredited university.n CPA preferred.n Statistical Compliance Knowledge a plus.nnAdditional Company DetailsThe Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
