Overview

In this position you
will be part of the Service Technology family reporting directly to the head of
the Service Mechanical Unit. The person in the Chief
Mechanical Engineer position for the Service G2 Platform will ensure
delivery of technical solutions while considering safety, time to resolution
and cost.  

Responsibilities

 

In the position as Chief
Mechanical Engineer for the G2 platform you will be the primary contact person
for mechanical issues affecting the G2 platform in Service. You will coordinate
the different tasks within an assigned project team of mechanical engineers.
Your goal will be to deliver technical solutions meeting the defined
requirements based on technical norms and standards. Therefore, you will
support the assigned mechanical engineers in their daily work.

In order to foster the customer
relations, align priorities, apply the latest knowledge and to have influence
on our business, you will establish, maintain and develop collaboration with
many stakeholders within Service Technology, Service and Onshore Technology.

As the Chief Mechanical Engineer,
you should have a passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance
to lead change. You will be responsible for review and approval of all
mechanical changes impacting the G2 product under service design authority.

Tasks may include but
are not limited to:

Ensuring the resolution of
technical inquiries on a platform level regarding mechanical components and
systems. Fully responsible for
coordinating technical tasks inside the mechanical team assigned to the
platform.Responsible for ensuring the
conformity of technical solutions with stakeholder requirements, technical
codes and standards and technical design criteria defined by the mechanical
unit.Collaborate with the platform
team and stakeholders to prioritize work and tasks Collaborate with team leads/unit
managers in order to apply latest knowledge. Establish, develop, and maintain
a technical and professional network to stay current on latest technologies, design
practices, and industry standards.

 

Required
Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical
EngineeringMinimum 5 years relevant work
experience in field of Mechanical Engineering as it related to wind turbines.

Advanced
degree may be substituted for experience, where applicable.

Knowledge of how mechanical
systems interaction with systems of other engineering disciplines to ensure all
aspects are considered when defining design solutions.  Broad knowledge in the field of
mechanical engineering with an advanced understanding of wind turbine systems. Strong skills in project
management methods and tools is essential. Ability to drive and influence
the technical direction of a teamStrong communicator and team
playerQualified Applicants must be

Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Strong understanding of business impacts as they relate
to technical decisionsProactive and Self-drivenWorking knowledge of SAP, NX, and TeamcenterUnderstanding of 8D Problem Solving and other Six Sigma
methodologiesApproximately 10% travel is expected (International
& Domestic)
