The Corporate Counsel or Senior Corporate Counsel will work as part of the Healthcare Law Group within Genentech's Legal department.
The position will have the opportunity to provide legal advice and support to Genentech's managed care and customer services department, including sales and marketing teams, sales support, and other commercial support functions. The attorney will provide advice, education, training and legal direction on typical managed care issues such as managed-care pricing and contracting, third party payor laws, privacy, healthcare fraud and abuse laws, antitrust, and other laws impacting the commercialization of biotech drugs. This attorney will help review marketing and educational materials developed by the managed care and customer services department.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate will have a JD with Bar admission from a top tier law school, a minimum of 3 years of managed care law experience. Private practice experience and experience with pharmaceutical or biotech industry preferred but not required. Eligibility for the Sr Corporate Counsel will have between 7-15 years in practice, including 5 years of recent relevant legal experience at a law firm with a nationally-recognized FDA / Life Sciences practice or in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology companys law department, with a focus on managed care.
