Job Description
Responsible for meeting with non-customers to open Purchase/Repurchase (Warehouse) Facilities and to promote and cross-sell other Bank products and services as appropriate. Managing relationship with active customers to maintain or grow production. Excellence in product knowledge, sales and service skills is essential. Mentoring other Business Development Officers as needed.
Other duties may be assigned
Able to perform to individual sales goals as part of the department goals
Solicit potential customers through; Networking, Trade Shows, Advertising and Cold Calls
Assess potential customer needs and determine if they are a good fit for the Bank
Be actively involved in both state and national industry associations to enhance networking opportunities and to keep current on industry changes
Build long lasting relationships
Practice exemplary security and loss prevention skills to ensure that the Bank know its customers, and that account information in the application are both screened and verified
Actively monitor and manage existing portfolio to determine client needs are being met
Generate correspondence in a professional manner
Handle inquiries effectively and in a timely, professional and positive manner
Mentor and train other Business Development Officers within the department
Adhere to all Bank policies including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Travel (50%)
Job Requirements
Prefer at least 5 years of experience as a Business Development Officer in a financial institution
Prefer at least 5 years of Warehouse Lending and/or Mortgage Banking, Correspondent experience
Able to handle customer complaints and inquiries in a positive, professional manner
Excellent sales and service skills
Able to assist other employees in sales and business development
Working knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis
Communication Skills:
Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone
Good multitasking and organizational skills
Able to work well with others and to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult people
Computer Skills:
Accurate typing/keyboarding skills
