Reporting to the Senior Vice President of IT Global Data Center Operations, the Director of Data Center Operations will provide team oversight for a global staff consisting of Franklin Templeton employees and outsource vendor employees with primary responsibility for process, system availability, service vision, delivery, and Tier 2 support for Franklin Templeton IT Global Data Centers.  Disciplines include, but are not limited to data center business information system needs, global job processing, backup and restore, Disaster Recovery, automation, performance management, maintenance and data center “run” life-cycle management.  The qualified candidate will develop and lead a high performing team while partnering with key stakeholders in business and technology areas across the company.
 
Responsibilities include:

Identify business information systems needs and develop strategies, approaches, and plans in support of those needs while setting the vision for future infrastructure adoption to meet strategic business goals
Responsible for the enterprise-wide effectiveness and efficiency of the data center, service delivery, service support, disaster recovery, and general IT operations
Build and Run to effectively deliver standard Engineering solutions for IT Global Data Centers, Servers, Storage and Networks to address business goals and operational requirements. 
Lead the implementation of infrastructure into new computing facilities and ensure availability, security and reliability of systems and networks with high quality installations and fast implementation cycles.  Manage capacity planning for data center resources such as space and power is properly provisioned and managed cost effectively.
Partner with Architects, Engineering and other stakeholders to  build and run, communicate, support and deliver against established Strategies, Technology Roadmaps, Standards, Processes and Services
Partner with Infrastructure Engineering Leaders to establish criteria and execution to ensure proper transition from Engineering to Operational areas for project delivery and production support.
Partner with Global Information Security to ensure security, audit and compliance requirements are met
Perform Financial forecasting; manage project and departmental budgets
Establish metrics and measurements demonstrating area health. Communicate through Operational Reviews
Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies and processes. Evolve and apply to continuously improve IT services.
Make and influence technical and business decisions
Work closely with Vendor Relationship Managers to foster healthy supplier relationships, manage contracts, product performance, usage monitoring and forecast, service levels and expectations
Lead the triage of escalated, basic to moderate problems as needed to ensure restoration or quality of service
Recruit, develop and mentor a team of talented, highly motivated staff
Develop opportunities for cross-team effectiveness and remove organizational barriers for strong teamwork, collaboration, and excellent service delivery','!*!Ideal candidates will have:
 
Required Qualifications:

10 years’ experience leading teams responsible for Data Center Operations and Service Delivery for global mid to large sized corporations with geographically dispersed populations
Passionate, collaborative, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of inspiring and building strong performing teams
Demonstrated technical management knowledge in the areas Windows, Unix, Mainframe, Enterprise Storage, Voice and Data Networks, High-Availability and Virtualization
Experience in implementing quality guidelines, standards and procedures
Experience leading geographically distributed and culturally diverse work-groups
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization and planning skills
Strong influencing / negotiation skills
Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills
Demonstrated financial and contract management skills
Bachelor’s  Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications:

Financial Services industry experience
Specific experience in managing an outsource provider to perform data center support
Specific experience with IBM iSeries, AIX, Linux, Solaris, EMC, Network Appliance, and Cisco technologies
Expertise in the areas of Information Security and Risk Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery/Avoidance, Unified Communications, or Systems Development
