This position is responsible in developing contacts and leads in order to generate SBA and small business loans. The product lines will consist of all SBA products (including 7a, 504, and Express), CA State Guaranty, Small Business Loans, and Commercial Real Estate loans. This position will need to ensure compliance with all internal policies as well as all related, laws, regulations, and SOPs.
Accountable for prospecting new business while retaining and deepening existing relationships
Develop relationships with referral sources such as CRE and business brokers, Realtors, CPAs, Attorneys, and other influential community members to identify prospects for new SBA lending.
Participate in and/or host community organizations and events to enhance the CCU image and promote and develop new business and/or additional referral sources.
Develop and implement a targeted plan to contact prospects in sufficient quantity to achieve financial objectives.
Develop strategies to originate SBA loans within the CCU marketplace
Support marketing campaigns and product launches; modify sales techniques to achieve sales results.
Establish and maintain thorough prospect file; review and access on a scheduled basis.
Keep updated on changes to SBA lending environment, credit union competition, and member’s business environment.
Be conscientious of sales goals and status in achieving them.
Conduct effective networking, outreach strategies and on-site visits to determine the business’ feasibility.
Work on loan application, proposals, loan packages, and see the loan from application to funding
Review client’s loan application to ensure accuracy and compliance with established criteria, determine eligibility, and analyze the applicant’s repayment ability.
Prepare Prequalification Summary to be presented to Credit Committee
Structure and deliver, upon approval, letter of interest and go over the details of the entire program with applicant.
Explain reasons for the denial or other options to application.
Perform annual site visits at the business location of the borrower.
Adhere to general credit union and regulatory procedures.
Work effectively with branch staff who are involved with the business banking program
Assist and support branch personnel with the business lending program within their assigned branch market area.
Schedule and make joint sales calls with branch personnel to present various business lending products to prospective business members.
Share constructive and positive ideas and suggestions with branch personnel
Act as an expert resource for branch personnel.
Assist in product and service development to ensure member satisfaction
Share new and innovative ideas and suggestions to senior management team
Present fee and pricing alternatives to existing product line based on market demand
Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma.
This position is required to have knowledge of all applicable business banking policies and procedures, forms and documents, and terminology.
2 years of related experience.
