About the Position Our Santa Cruz, CA based client is seeking a Vice President of Sales and Marketing. This position will report to the CEO and will be responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy. The main objective of the VP of Sales and Marketing will be to drive an increase in revenue and profit. The successful candidate will be in charge of building and managing motivated B2B and B2C sales teams and ensuring that annual sales goals are met or exceeded. Responsibilities The VP of Sales and Marketing will manage the Company’s e-commerce, retail and distribution sales. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the sales and marketing team as well as implementation of overall market strategy. Drive sales planning and forecasting. Coordinate with business development, sales, and creative to create presentations, proposals, and quotes to secure new sales opportunities. Build and draw on existing relationships with specialty mass, healthy grocery and grocery buyers. Closely monitor and optimize sales KPIs. Participate in developing sales campaigns, sales programs, sales collateral and new packaging. Translate analytical data into strategic recommendations. Coordinate and work closely with customer support, graphic design and product development teams. Secure new key accounts in specialty and healthy grocery. Maintain a positive, motivated and productive sales team. Educate and train sales staff on proven sales techniques. Manage Independent Rep groups. Requirements The ideal candidate will be a self starter who is visionary, entrepreneurial and highly dynamic with strong analytical, creative and leadership skills. At least 8 years of experience working with and managing a growing B2C e-commerce platform and traditional retail sales, preferably focused on consumer products. Expertise in all operational and strategic issues involved in building a successful e-commerce and retail business. Track record for growing sales in both B2B and B2C channels. Sales planning, forecasting and budgeting experience. Proven depth of knowledge of the e-commerce industry. Experience in housewares consumer product channels. Must be flexible and possess the ability to work effectively with all team members. Experience selling to and professional contacts in the grocery and specialty mass markets. Hands on manager with willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. Ability to think strategically and problem solve. Must be positive, inventive and forward thinking. Detail oriented, highly organized with strong written and oral communication skills. Qualifications: 8+ years experience in sales, marketing and management Outstanding analytical and financial skills Strong management skills Highly entrepreneurial and visionary Strong computer literacy Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred.
