Job Summary: (Short Statement of the job’s purpose)
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer, the VP of Finance, Communications Systems will hold key responsibilities both at a Division and Corporate level for the Company. The individual will manage all global financial operations of our Communications Systems business and be responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing and evaluating the Division’s financial function, strategy and performance on an ongoing basis. This executive will work closely with the President of the Division, providing ongoing financial and business support, ensuring strong financial and business controls while working strategically to drive our operating strategy and day-to-day needs of the organization.
Furthermore, as a strategic business partner to the Chief Financial Officer and key interface with the Chief Executive Officer, this individual will be a key contributor in the Company’s growth and governance initiatives. The successful candidate must be a strong, broad-based operating executive, understanding the intricacies of a complex multi-segment business with operations on a global scale.
We expect the individual to be a high impact, low ego leader in the organization, capable of wearing multiple hats as required and having a personal passion for the business and for developing the people around them. The person is expected to be a “thick skinned” seasoned executive who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to hold composure in demanding situations. This individual will work directly with and will develop credibility with the Communications Systems Senior Management Team, Corporate Executive Management Team and the Board of Directors by providing overall leadership, pertinent insight, and the timely and accurate analysis and assessment of forecasts, operating plans, reporting, and financial & business trends of the organization.
Essential Functions:

In collaboration with the Division President, is responsible for revenue and operating profit planning and execution, forward looking investment analysis, and cash management for the Division.
Ensures real time availability of data and sophisticated analytics effectively used by the Company in a fit-for-purpose size and complexity for a rapidly growing business.
Proactively partner with key leadership to utilize financial reporting and modeling to drive business improvement and decision-making.
Communicates and manages financial information to a variety of constituencies including Communications Systems Management Team, Corporate Executive Management and Board of Directors.
Assists in the development, motivation, and management of a high-performance team of professionals and creates an organization where finance is well-regarded as a key business partner to the global entity.
Responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing and evaluating the Division’s financial strategy, and performance on an ongoing basis.
Active involvement and leadership in M&A activities for the division
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education / Training / Skills / Experience:
Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance. MBA, advanced degree and/or CPA desirable.
Significant experience in the operational finance function for both private and public manufacturing centric technology companies with both domestic and international operations in the Government and Defense segments.
Track record of a well-seasoned business leader, providing value in executive management beyond traditional finance and accounting disciplines.
Strategic/big-picture thinker who can assist with the long-term vision yet drive the organization to execute flawlessly to the annual operating plan.
Honest, ethical with the highest level of personal and professional integrity. Works to develop and nurture a climate of respect in the organization.
Well versed in managing across various financial and operational functions also including, information technology and other key administrative areas.
High impact, low ego leader in the organization - having a personal passion for the business and for developing the people around them.
Strong broad-based operating executive, understanding the intricacies of a complex multi-division business with operations on a global scale.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and presentation; good process orientation
