E.C. Publications, Inc. seeks a Vice President, Publicity for the Publicity department. The Vice President of Publicity for DC Entertainment will be responsible for overseeing, developing and implementing publicity programs and campaigns for DC Entertainment's print and digital comic books, graphic novels, and in addition its line of DC Collectibles for all three brands - DC Comics, Vertigo and MAD Magazine and ensuring that these publicity activities are in-line with the global strategy to achieve the company's business plan objectives.

This role is responsible for conceiving and executing strategies for publicity campaigns that generate sustainable awareness and positive press coverage for the company's Publishing imprints, products & initiatives including its comic books (print & digital), graphic novels, DC Collectibles and custom & licensed comic books.
This position will be a key executive for the company in cultivating and maintaining stellar relationships with its creator community, editorial staff and press contacts, and will act as a central figure in coordinating all press interviews for the talent and creators associated with DCE's comic books and graphic novels.
The identification, management and allocation of art and editorial assets to various channels, platforms and departments for the purpose of raising awareness and supporting business objectives will be managed by this role.
The VP will oversee Publicity Department staff that will assist in writing, pitching and placing preview and review coverage of DCE's line of print and digital comic books and graphic novels, as well as the line of DC Collectible merchandise.
Including but not limited to all pitching, media relations, message development, spokesperson training, staffing and scheduling to be complimentary with DCE's publishing business.
Key media areas include: mainstream entertainment press, pop culture press, core comic trade press.
Other projects as assigned.
BA or equivalent experience required. Emphasis in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations preferred.
Minimum 10-15 years experience with increasing levels of responsibility in publicity required.
Experience in comics, publishing, and/or entertainment publicity, communications or public relations strongly preferred.
Must possess excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Must have proven track-record demonstrating capability to communicate with all levels of staff and external clients.
Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and excellent judgment. Able to work effectively with senior level executives.
Must have experience in Internal Communications.
Must be able to maintain project confidentiality.
Must be able to work in a fast paced, politically sensitive environment.
Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven track-record of managing own workflow to meet tight deadlines while handling high volume of work with a great attention to detail-specific information.
Exceptional proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Ability to use HTML and other web design tools a plus.
Knowledge of comics and/or DC characters a plus.
Ability to travel (domestically) up to 50% of the time.
Flexibility to respond to off-hours business needs.
