Reporting to the Sanitation Supervisor, the primary responsibility of the Sanitation Associate I is the execution of the Krunchers! plant Master Sanitation Schedule.  Direction may also come from the Quality Supervisor.  A Sanitarian must effectively clean and sanitize equipment, and facility in accordance with established food manufacturing regulations.  Work with timed effort to meet production goals and ensure customer satisfaction. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned due to business needs or special circumstances that may require reassignment to other departments or other job duties.
Utilizes powered cleaning equipment that may include powered lifts, scissors lifts, power washers, foam applicators, steamers, automatic compactors, motors and various non-mechanized equipment.
Demonstrates the ability to operate equipment such as floor jacks, trash compactor, vacuum cleaner, floor scrubber in a safe and knowledgeable manner. Follows instructions for safe lifting and carrying various sizes, shapes, and weight of objects; identifies/reports defective equipment; reports all job-related injuries to management.  Disassembly and reassembly of machines, pumps, bucket elevators, slurry equipment, filters and other processing equipment.
Is capable of working independently, with no direct supervision.
Performs plant cleaning as prescribed by the Master Sanitation Schedule.  Maintains general housekeeping in all areas of plant.
Learn and perform proper Allergen Elimination Procedure.
Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection. 
Follows all applicable GMP's for the area in which he/she is assigned.  Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA, plant defined GMP's, or when directed by a supervisor.
Participates in all necessary safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives.
Is able to read MSDS information and use chemical cleaning agents in a manner consistent with the manufacturer's recommendations. Monitors, tracks and documents chemical usage within the plant.
Performs other job related projects, duties and assignments as directed by supervision.

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); along with related training or experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or work from heights.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Individuals must be available to work 12 hour days as needed.
