Job Profile This role will partner with our Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality teams to implement strategies and programs that drive safe operations and systems, creating policies, operating models, metrics and processes to enable our business to deliver the safest workplace and product possible. Responsibilities: •In conjunction with the client Head of Safety, develop proactive annual safety plans that provide solutions necessary to build and sustain a world-class safety culture •Direct and manage TSC’s safety organization •Facilitate integration of safety methodologies and systems throughout the organization, including the executive team •Serve as the integrator and coordinator of safety requirements/information with the various engineering specialities, flight test team, and client customer •Coordinate with licensing organizations and external agencies (such as FAA, OSHA, NTSB, etc.) •Participate in engineering change control boards and recommend approval or disapproval on safety aspects of engineering changes •Ensure safety of flight and ground test operations, including supporting decisions on fight readiness and flight systems acceptance with respect to safety •Oversee effective implementation workplace safety policies and programs that are OSHA/Cal- OSHA compliant in a manufacturing environment •Oversee incident investigation, mitigation and closure •Responsible for developing and reporting safety metrics, tracking trends, and proactively identifying and implementing corrective actions •Uphold and reinforce client's “North Star” safety culture Qualifications: Professional Requirements •10 years of safety experience in an aviation manufacturing and flight operations environment, with experience with space related operations is a plus •Must have industrial safety experience and a demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis for incident/accident investigations •Requires FAA experience with aviation and/or space certification and licensing activities •Proven success with systems safety analysis of complex systems, including functional hazard analysis, fault trees, etc. •Preference for program management experience, as well as for a background approving engineering designs for safety considerations •Knowledge of risk management practices •Ability to establish and maintain partnerships across functional areas and a variety of organizational levels •Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to develop and deliver articulate presentations to groups of all sizes and levels •Ability to serve as a mentor and coach to others •Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills •Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint •Ability to work a flexible schedule that may occasionally include early or late start times and very infrequently weekends •Ability to respond to serious emergency situations, but 24/7 on-call is not required •Working knowledge of OSHA and NFPA codes and regulations Educational Requirements •Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline such as Safety or Aerospace/ Mechanical/Electrical engineering required; master’s degree in business or a related technical function preferred •Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work in the United States.
