SENIOR DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST/IT WINDOWS ADMINSTRATOR

POSITION TITLE AND DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a task-oriented and detail individual who is motivated to succeed and values organizational and communication skills. The successful candidate will want to take ownership of all areas of the desktop/mobile device environment.
Examples of the desktop environment include resolution of desktop service requests, development of operational procedures, leasing and maintenance procedures. Additional duties include telephone provisioning, video conference call setup, developing technical documentation and managing the network switching infrastructure. The position is forward facing to a very educated population that requires a strong service delivery orientation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Strong knowledge of Windows 7, Apple iOS and Microsoft Office in a TCP/IP networking environment. Experience working with Active Directory, Outlook and Exchange 2010. Previous exposure to VMWare VSphere helpful.
Ability to learn and support a variety of desktop applications including; MS Office, Adobe, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Cisco VPN, Apple iOS, BlackBerry Enterprise PDAs, Symantec Ghost, McAfee end-point encryption software and Citrix remote access solutions.
Must be detail oriented and have a strong service delivery orientation. Strong written/verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be prompt, organized, and a task oriented self starter. Ability to work with minimal supervision is critical.
Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of different tasks including PC/Laptop builds, installs and moves. Desktop software installation, video conferencing setup, voicemail/telephone setup and support, mobile device provisioning/troubleshooting. Previous network troubleshooting experience helpful.
Ability to manage a variety of service providers including, cellular telephone/data plans, security, video conferencing, as well as hardware/software support technicians.
Previous Windows 7 rollout/upgrade experience viewed favorably.
Previous phone/voicemail system experience helpful. Avaya phone/voicemail system experience preferred.
Must be able to learn quickly and work as a member of an IT support team in a technically challenging and demanding user environment.
Clean neat business professional appearance
Ability to work 40-60 hours/week.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage cellular service telephone/data plans, software support and hardware maintenance contracts. Manage and cultivate vendor relationships.
Develop and manage operational procedures.
Build, test and install new desktop/laptop PC’s using Norton Ghost. Install and support iOS devices and BlackBerry PDA devices. Provide detailed desktop hardware and software support.
Configure, test and implement new user accounts, telephone extensions and voice mail services. Implement phone system/voicemail programming changes as needed.
Coordinate and perform end user software, telephone and voicemail training as required.
Setup, Support & Troubleshoot Video Conferencing and Multimedia presentation facilities to support critical business meetings
Maintain Hardware/Software Inventory of all laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile phones, etc...
Ensure adherence with all information confidentiality and compliance related policies
Maintain Daily and Weekly backup jobs as necessary. Previous experience with Symantec backup exec helpful.
Provide copier/printer support and troubleshooting.
