Application Development Manager

Client has an immediate opening for an Applications Development Manager who can get the job done. You will be responsible for managing an application portfolio comprised of new development, legacy applications, and 3rd party applications. In this role you will be managing a group of dynamic SharePoint and .NET developers who will look to you as someone who can help them grow and created solid relationships with all lines of our business. If chosen, some of the key projects you will be focusing on revolve around monitoring and maintaining our core company (and industry related) applications, working toward developing solutions around how the development team can be a better business partner, and leading and mentoring developers with various skill levels.
Your biggest responsibility will revolve around steering the architecture and design of all team-related projects. What does that mean? Here are few key responsibilities that will give you an indication of the challenges that lie ahead:
Foster collaboration between business partners and the development teams to form an application strategy roadmap
Involvement in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle including technical requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Work closely with peers to collaborate on efficient, scalable, and maintainable cross-application solutions.
Utilize business and systems expertise to identify new or improved business processes, and evaluates them for adoption into the business environment, often providing ongoing consultative services to both business & IT partners
Create in-depth specifications for systems to meet user requirements and validates needs are met
Required Experience
Experience developing business-critical software in an environment that requires flexibility and high productivity
Seven plus (7 ) years of IT experience and leading application development teams
Excellent analytical and team building skills that fosters collaboration among the team
Solid customer service and delivery skills
The technical skills:
Five plus (5 ) years of application development experience using Visual Studio and the Microsoft .NET Framework with C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server.
Expert knowledge of relational databases including SQL Server, and Proficient in writing SQL statements, creating & modifying database objects like Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Materialized views, triggers , T-SQL , SSIS Packages.
Object oriented analysis and design
Experience in both application development and production support
Preferred Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or business related degree
Dynamic personality - someone who works hard and knows how to make the work fun for themselves and their team.
